Research Scientist (Bioinformatics)
Theo Allnutt has 29 years’ experience in molecular biology research, bioinformatics and biological statistics. Theo has worked for the UK Government, European Commission, universities and research institutes on a wide range of molecular biology bioinformatic projects, with 73 peer review publications and 3057 citations. Bioinformatics specialties include: python programming and wrapper development; molecular population genetics; metagenomics analyses; plant nuclear and organelle genome assembly; and gene expression analyses. Theo is currently working on the Genomics for Australian Plants Project studying the phylogenetics of Australian angiosperms using target capture gene sequencing; and the assembly and annotation of 27 Australian plant genomes in order to fill gaps in the current reference genome taxonomy.
